]]>#1 It can unclog your pores
This is good news for us who want to prevent our pores from getting bigger. The leaves of the green tea plant make a good exfoliator, it is not too rough like coffee powder but just nice like a sugar scrub which makes it gentle on the face. Just check out the Neogen Real Fresh Cleansing Stick Green Tea. It contains green tea seed oil and green tea leaves that will allow you to get a deep cleanse in one swipe. Besides, its non-liquid state makes it an ideal travel companion. Just check out this blog post for our other kbeauty travel picks. If you prefer chemical exfoliators, the Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling highlights green tea as their main ingredient which is suitable for our acne skin beauties.
#2 It can shield you from those harmful UV rays
If you haven't read our blog post about the importance of sunscreen then you'll know why putting on SPF is important. While green tea cannot replace your sunscreen, studies have shown that applying green tea onto your skin protects it from those UV rays. Hence, why we love the Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Cream Triple Care , not only does it have Jeju green tea extract but it also has sunflower oil which also hydrate your skin while protecting it. Plus it is a good makeup primer.
#3 It is a powerful antibacterial agent
Polyphenols which is the compound that gives the green tea plant its colour, can also damage bacterial membranes and fight against infection. This allows it to treat bacterial growth that causes acne. It can also help to soothe any bacterial inflammation allowing for a smoother toned skin which is why we love putting on our favourite Innisfree or Etude House green tea sheet mask to fight those acnes.
#4 Its a good anti-aging antioxidant
Yes, you heard it right. Green tea is an anti-aging antioxidant and if you've read our blog post you'll know that we love how antioxidants can help us 20 somethings stay dewy and fresh looking. Green tea is filled with vitamin E which you all already know is a good hydrator which also nourishes your skin but did you know that green tea also contains vitamin B2. Vitamin B2 is essential for skin health maintenance as it helps to maintain collagen levels. Hence, why you'll see the Tony Moly The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Essence in our daily routine.
]]>What is it?
An innovative and fun to use exfoliating pad. It works as an effective chemical and physical exfoliator which is infused with antioxidants such as green tea, vitamin c and resveratrol.
Which one should I use?
The Neogen Bio Peel Gauze pads comes in three types which are green tea, lemon and wine. They each contain their own antioxidants and can cater to certain skin concerns. Sensitive, combination or oily skin
If you have sensitive, combination, oily or acne prone skin its best to use the green tea one. This is because the green tea Neogen Bio Peel Gauze Pads uses other anti-inflammatory ingredients (i.e. other than green tea) such as Centella Asiatica and other anti-acne fighting agents such as Tea Tree Oil. Hence, it can gently soothe the skin and prevent acne which is a huge plus point for anyone with sensitive or acne prone skin.
Mature skin
If you are a lady approaching your 30s or are in your 30s or beyond your 30s then the wine one would be more suitable for you. This is because of the main ingredient, resveratrol which is a red wine derivative. Resveratrol contains natural AHAs and antioxidants that can prevent wrinkle formation. So, if anti aging is your main concern this would be most suitable for you.
Dull or pigmented skin
If you are recovering from acne, have dull skin, dark spots or freckles, then the lemon Neogen Bio Peel Gauze pads would be able to help you with that. It contains a combination of brightening ingredients such as lemon, orange and papaya extract. Hence, if you are in your 20s this will help you fade those unwanted spots while preventing those wrinkles.
How to use it?
Firstly, your skin should be clean and free of any makeup before you use the Neogen bio peel gauze pads. Preferably, you should be using it after you have double cleansed and before you put on your toner.
Once, you have prepped your skin, place two or three of your fingers into the pouch of the pad. Make sure that the gauze part of the pad is facing you and start exfoliating your face using gentle circular motions. You may also use this on your neck and collar bone to help remove the dirt and dead skin cells from that area.
After you are done, flip the pad over to the soft quilted fabric light side and just use it to clean up all the remaining debris on your face. Simply swipe it all over your face in an upward motion.
Remember to wash your face with lukewarm water once you are finished. This is important as the formula on the pad is meant to be wash off. Do take time to appreciate how nice and soft your skin is post exfoliation.

#1 Acne Patches
Acne patches such as the Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch can protect your pimples from your hands which have a lot of germs while providing it with intensive care. Just dab your spot treatment like the Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream underneath this transparent pimple patch and apply your makeup and your good to go.
#2 Sheet Masks and Face Mists
Puffyness and dry skin due to over indulgence is curable by hydrating your skin. Other than the usual hydrating serums and essence, you can also use an intensive treatment sheet mask like the Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask or the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask while you are resting to hydrate and treat your other skin concerns.
Besides that, you can also ensure that your skin is constantly hydrated by misting away with the Tony Moly The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Mist as you go about your daily activities. Plus it can also keep your makeup in place.
#3 Moisturisers
The holidays can also leave your skin red hence, opt for moisturisers that can calm and sooth your skin like the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream or the Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel which is known to soothe irritated skin, fade acne scars, brighten skin tone and maintain hydrated skin throughout the day. Hence, doing more than just soothing your skin.
]]>#1 Wear sunblock
If you have already read our previous post about sunblock, then you'll probably know why this is number one on our list of wrinkle prevention tips in your 20s. This is because proteins such as collagen actually deplete when exposed to UV rays. Hence, wearing sunblock such as the Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50 PA+++ or the Missha All Around Safe Block WaterProof Sun Milk SPF 50+/PA+++ will help us to look young and allow us to reap other skincare benefits such as hydration and sebum control.
#2 Remove your eye makeup gently
Your eyes are the most delicate part of your face and are the first to show signs of aging. Hence, we can prevent this by removing our eye makeup gently to preserve the elasticity in that area. Instead of rubbing your makeup remover all over your eyes, just hold whichever eye makeup remover that you are using whether its the Huxley Cleansing Water; Be Clean; Be Moist or the Heimish All Clean Balm over your eyes for about 15 seconds to let it melt all the make up away. This will prevent you from tugging your delicate eye area.
#3 Start using an eye cream even when you're in your 20's
As mentioned above, your eyes are one of first to show signs of aging, hence, its important to keep this part nourished and hydrated. Start using a light weight creamy or gel eye cream such as the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream in your 20's and start to switch to a more moisturising and active eye cream such as the Missha Geum Sul Vitalizing Eye Cream in your 30's.
#4 Exfoliate
Exfoliate your skin regularly with a physical exfoliator such as the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish or a chemical one such as the Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling to help reveal younger looking skin on the surface of your face. As explained in our previous blog post about exfoliating, an accumulation of dead skin cells can actually cause our skin to sag because it can pull or weight our skin down. Hence, we can exfoliate to prevent a build of dead skin cells and to keep our face fresh and young looking.
#5 Use antioxidants
Avoid products that focus on lifting and firming your skin when you are in your 20s because using them at such a young age will put your skin cells into overdrive and may cause breakouts especially if you have acne prone skin. Save those heavily peptide concentrated products for when you are in your 30s or 40s. Instead look for products that contain antioxidants such as vitamin C and argan oil which can be found in the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop and Whamisa Organic Flowers Deep Rich Toner respectively.

#1 Makeup remover
Thou shall never sleep with makeup on. Sleeping with your makeup can lead to clogged pores and bacteria build up which subsequently lead to acne. If you want to minimize the amount of liquids in your luggage, you can opt for the Huxley Cleansing Water; Be Clean; Be Moist which is only 30ml or if you want to cut out water completely why not carry a some makeup remover wipes like the Innisfree Apple Seed Cleansing Tissue or a smaller version of your Heimish cleansing balm.
#2 A Cleanser that Cleanses and Exfoliates
Yes, there is such a thing. Its the Neogen Real Fresh Green Tea Cleansing Stick . It contains green tea seed oil which will gently remove any impurities on your skin and green tea leaves which will exfoliate your skin when you use this cleansing stick in a circular motion. Its even gentle enough to use as a daily exfoliator. Hence, killing two steps in one go. How's that for saving time and space?
#3 An Essence That Can Be A Toner
I bet you guys have heard of toners that can chemically exfoliate your skin like your favourite Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Day Miracle Toner or toner pads that tone and exfoliate your skin at the same time like the Cosrx One Step Pimple Clear Pad but have you ever heard of an essence that can be a toner? Introducing the Hanskin Real Complexion Hyaluron Skin Essence, it is a hybrid essence that is also a toner. It contains an advanced form of hyaluronic acid called sodium hyaluronate that's comprised of smaller molecules, allowing it to hold 1,000 times more moisture than water. This essence sinks fast into skin and deeply infuses it with hydration. It is only slightly thicker than the Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence and it won't drown your skin when you put on 7 layers of it.
#4 A Moisturiser That Calms The Skin
Whether you are playing with snow or lazing on the beach your skin is prone to getting to getting irritated, hence, having a moisturiser that can moisturse and sooth your skin will come in handy during holiday season just like the Mamonde Rose Water Soothing Gel, Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel, Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream or the It's Skin Secret Solution Shield Soothing Gel. Depending on their ingredients some of these moisturiser even help with other skin concerns like acne and some even contain antioxidants like the one by It's Skin which contains chamaecyparis obtusa water.
#5 A Sunblock That Does More
If you haven't read our previous post on the importance of sunblock, then you should so that, you'll understand why here at N2N Allure we are big advocates of wearing sunblock. You should always wear sunblock during the day even when its cloudy because those UV rays can penetrate the clouds in the sky. Hence, why it is our kbeauty travel picks.
However, not all sunblocks are created equal, some sunblocks contain additional ingredients that can further help with anti-aging such as the Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Cream Triple Care or the Neogen Day-Light Protection Sun Screen which contain antioxidants that can help nourish, hydrate and prevent the first wrinkle. There are also sunblock that hydrate and soothe the skin at the same time such as the Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream.
There you have it our kbeauty travel picks, that cuts down the number of items in your luggage and saves you some time without you forgoing your skincare routine.

#1 It lets you test things out before investing further
This is especially handy for those with sensitive skin. This is because a sheet mask is a serum presoaked piece of cotton or hydrogel which allows its users to test out the high-potency ingredients before investing in the full bottle.
#2 It allows the serum to penetrate deeper into your skin
A sheet mask is occlusive and prevents the serum from evaporating hence, allowing the serum to penetrate deeper into your skin thus, repairing your skin from the inside.
#3 It can outperform the traditional serum-type skincare
Because of reason number 2, a sheet mask can actually outperform its normal serum-in-a-bottle counterpart even with one application and if it does it will help you make an informed purchase decision.
]]>
#1 Double Cleanse
Making sure that your skin is clean from any make up and dirt is important for numerous reasons. Start off by using an oil based cleanser like the Dear Klair Gentle Black Cleansing Oil or the Heimish All Clean Balm . Gently massage your oil based cleanser in a circular motion and watch as all the makeup gently melts off your face. Rinse your face with water and grab a water based cleanser like the Neogen Real Freah Foam we personally like the green tea one or the Dear Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser and wash away the remaining sweat and dirt on your face. Try double cleansing for a week and you’ll be surprised with the results.
#2 Sheet Masking
Sheet masks are a lazy girls dream when it comes to skincare. It is so easy - Stick it on, peel off after 15 to 20 minutes and you’re done ! Plus it’s effective and affordable.
]]>
#1 Plump up lips
The areas around our eyes and lips are the thin and are where we normally spot our first wrinkle. An eye cream is actually designed to cater to the thin skin area around the eyes. Hence, by applying the eye cream to the areas around your mouth at night it can act as an overnight mask to hydrate and plump out the skin around your beautiful pout.
#2 Blend it with makeup
Don't fret an eye cream can actually be applied around your entire face. So by mixing it with your BB or CC cream or your foundation it amps up the hydration levels through out your entire day. Plus, the other benefits that your eye cream provides for your eyes will be applied on your skin hence, you will be strengthening your skin all day long !
#3 Eye Makeup Fixer
Simply add some eye cream on your cotton bud and erase that tiny nasty cat eye mistake or tidy it up.
#4 De-puff
Not all eye creams are created equal. Some do not come with any de-puffying ingredients. But don't worry you can always put your eye cream in the fridge prior to applying it. The coldness will soothe any redness and puffyness without preventing your eye cream from performing its original function. Keeping it in the fridge is also a good way to lengthen its shelf life especially if it uses natural ingredients.
#5 Eye Mask
Use it the same way you would as a sleep mask but limit it to the areas around your eyes and lips. This will allow the skin to absorb it without any interruptions as your skin repairs itself at night.
So, which eye cream hack is your favourite?
]]>#1 Aftershave
There’s no shame ! We all do it! Sweep some toner onto your legs to sooth irritated skin after you shave. This will get rid of ingrown hairs, dead skin and any leftover residue. It’s an added bonus if your toner has lavender in it because it smells good and will make it even more suitable for sensitive areas like your armpits and bikini line.
#2 De-puffer
Put your toner into the fridge until it is cold enough for you and wet your 2 cotton pads (if you want to de-puff your eyes) or blank sheet mask (if you want to de-puff your face) and leave it on your face for 15-20 minutes. If you want to do more than de-puff and hydrate you can pick a toner with specific ingredients that can treat your concerns. For example, vitamin c for brightening and BHA for acne.
#3 Alternative Treatment
Firstly, pick a toner that suits your needs and perform the 7 skin method. If you have not heard about it the 7 skin method, it is actually really easy. Just gently pat the toner all over your face, neck and décolletage like you normally do but repeat it 7 times. If you only want to target a specific area use a cotton pad instead.
#4 Makeup Remover
Mix your toner with some coconut or olive oil and watch how easily your makeup leaves your face. The oil helps to dissolve makeup while toner helps to remove makeup plus dirt and debris.
#5 Spray Tan Prep
Apply toner over your spray tan area to exfoliate the skin to reveal smoother skin. The clean and smooth skin will help your spray tan adhere better and prevent your skin from drying out.
#6 Diluter
We have all been there, we buy a new serum or ampoules but we are all too scared to try it. Why? Because we are not sure if it’s suitable for our skin. Here’s a tip mix it up with a few drops of your favourite toner to dilute it. This will give your skin more time to get use to it while allowing you to receive the benefits of serum or ampoules.
#7 Mist
Pour your toner and water into a spray bottle. The mixing ratio should be about 2:1, 2 being toner while 1 being mineral water. Once you’ve done that give it a shake and spray away !
]]>Post-vacation problem #1: Dull skin
Your winter wonderland holiday might have made your heart sing let it go but it also made your skin dull and dry. Hence, the moment you come back you should exfoliate. A physical scrub like the Dear Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish will help remove the build up of the dead skin cells allowing new skin cells to move to the surface. It will also help remove all the dirt your pores collected. If a physical scrub is not your thing you can try a chemical one like the one by Neogen.
Post-vacation problem #2: Dry skin
Spending a lot of time in the water can make your skin itchy and dry. Hence, it’s time to treat your face with a hydrating serum like the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Serum. The hydrating serum will be able to restore the skins oil-moisture balance and help remove any dry patches.
Post-vacation problem #3: Dark spots and freckles
We love frolicking around the city but with our favourite Cosrx sunblock . However, sometimes it’s not enough to prevent freckles from forming on our skin but fret not there is the Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Serum to help get rid of those dark spots. It’s formulated with 5% Vitamin C and centella asiatica which will help with those freckles and soothe irritated skin. Pair it up with vitamin E to make the vitamin c work harder for you.
]]>#1 Hydrate your skin first
Always prep your canvas (i.e. your beautiful face) by making sure that it is adequately hydrated. Dry skin cannot hold make up properly all day long. We suggest using a good hydrating essence like the Benton Fermentation Essence or a light weight moisturiser like the Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream to prepare your canvas before you paint your beautiful masterpiece.
#2 Prime your skin
Post sunblock, primers such as the 3CE Back to Baby Pore Velvet Primer are your first cosmetic steps that can help your make up last all day long. They seal in your skincare and help to give the appearance of smooth skin all day long.
#3 Add some argan oil
Add a drop of Argan oil into your make up like our Missha Triple Eyeshadow and it won’t crease all day! That extra dash of hydration is going to save you some time as well because you wouldn’t need to touch up your make up before you take that perfect holiday photo or close that important business deal.
#4 Use creamy makeup
Creamy make up like the 3CE Creamy Check Stick will last longer on your skin. Don’t have creamy make up? Mix your liquid makeup like a liquid lip stain such as the 3CE Lip Lacquer with a primer to make it last longer. You can control the intensity of the colour by adding more of the primer to dilute the colour or more of the liquid lipstick to make the colour pop out more.
#5 Use a loose powder/ setting spray
The last makeup step you should do before you head out of the house is to set your make up in place with some loose powder like the 3CE Studio Blur Filter Powder or you can use a setting spray.
]]>#1 Avoid powdery makeup
Like most people we also suffer from the grief of a broken pallet and having our clothes stained by our favourie blusher that did not survive the turbulent air plane ride. Hence, having our make up in a semi solid form helps prevent heart break. Plus creamy makeup actually lasts longer than their powder counterparts thanks to their higher concentration in pigment.
#2 Always carry a mirror with you
This is especially true if you are staying at a low budget no frills kind of place. You should always bring a compact mirror just in case. This will also come in handy when you do your touch ups.
#3 Be mindful of the temperature and the altitude
Always have your destination in mind when you pack your make up. If it’s something that could explode at high altitudes, melt at high temperatures or freeze at low temperatures then you know that you should be leaving it at home.
#4 Multitasking and double duty products can save lots of luggage space
Multitasking products like BB or CC creams which provide coverage for those unwanted blemishes and Protection from UV rays help save luggage space. This is because you would need to pack one item instead of two - foundation and sunblock. Hence, saving your liquid allowance for other things.
Another way to save luggage space is to use your everyday makeup go to’s in an unconventional way such as:
a. Mascara as eyebrow gel
b. Eyebrow pencil as an eyeliner
c. Creamy eyeshadow as a blusher or vice versa
d. Lipstick as a blush and eyeshadow

]]>#1 Wearing heavy make up on the flight
There’s nothing wrong with wearing make up onto a flight as long as it’s not heavy and you remove it before you sleep. Instead of opting for your daily foundation why not use a BB or CC cream which provides you more than just the coverage and glow that you need. Most BB or CC creams are packed with antioxidants and they contain SPF (which is very important). Pair that up with simple eyeliner, some creamy blush (Trust us it will hold longer than their powder counterparts) and our personal favourite a red lip and Voila! You are airport chic ready !
#2 Skipping sunblock
Yes, even when you are up in the air you still need to apply sunblock. According to Justine Hextall, a dermatologist at the Harley Medical Group, UV exposure increases significantly at 30,000 feet and you know what happens to your skin when it’s exposed to the sun. UV rays destroy the collagen under your skin hence, giving you wrinkles faster! So, do not forget your sun block or use a BB or CC cream that has SPF.
#3 Failure to remove your make up
This is especially important on long haul flights. Grease and dirt can clog up your pores giving you post-flight acne. With that said this does not mean that you need to double cleanse on the flight. Instead you can use cleansing water which will help remove the make up and hydrate the skin at the same time.
PS: Do not forget to clean your face with cleansing water before you reapply your make up.
#4 Ignoring your skins thirst
Being on the flight is equivalent to being in the desert for your skin. If you are shy to sheet Mask on the plane why not put a heavy moisturiser, night oil or our personal favourite a sleeping mask ! Other than the skincare benefits, the frangrance from the sleeping masks provide a soothing effect which helps us fall asleep and the best part is that it has a clear matte finish. Perfect for shy people like us.
#5 Spraying instead of drinking water
Drink water but do not spray water on your face. Water attracts water hence, spraying water on your face will only dry it out even more.
]]>#1 Improves the health of your skin
Proteins such as collagen, keratin and elastin help to keep your skin smooth and healthy. They deplet when you are exposed to harmful UV rays. Hence, why you should protect yourself with sunblock.
#2 Its a good cosmetic option !
If you’re one of those lucky girls that could go bare face all day long then getting a sunblock that could double up as a foundation or B.B. cream would be a great option for you.
#3 Prevents blotchiness
Wearing sunblock actually prevents the veins on your face from erupting which in turn prevents you from getting a red blotchy face. This helps to prevent the on set of acne and other sun induced damages.
]]>#1 Exfoliating gets rid of dead cells
One of the really obvious results of exfoliating is the removal of dead skin cells which is great because when too many dead skin cells “build-up”, it can start to make the skin look dull and rough. By just exfoliating you will be able to say good bye to your leather-like skin and say hello to your smooth and soft skin which makes it an even better base for your foundation or BB cream.
#2 Exfoliating helps you look younger
Dead skin cells have less elasticity hence, an accumulation of it can pull and weight the skin down making our skin to sag and form wrinkles. Therefore, by removing the older dead cells via exfoliating, we are revealing younger looking cells. In other words, exfoliating increases cell turnover rates which helps to turn back to the clock.
#3 Exfoliating helps you reap the benefits of your skincare routine
People who have a lot of sun exposure tend to have thicker skin because the dead skin cells will accumulate to prevent the harmful UV rays from penetrating the skin. Hence, by exfoliating we are helping remove some of the layers that our skincare products might have to get through in order to transform our skin from inside out.
#4 Exfoliating helps with acne and pores
Exfoliating helps to unclog pores and get rid of the breeding ground in which the acne causing bacteria resides. Hence, allowing them to appear smaller and prevent acne.
#5 Exfoliating helps with blood circulation
Good circulation is essential so that, blood can feed our skin with the nutrients we need and ‘drain away’ anything bad. The results of exfoliating is similar to exercising which is why some us may end up looking like a tomato at the end of the exfoliation process.

So, here are our picks for the skincare steps that you should never skip to keep your complexion in tip-top shape
]]>So, here are our picks for the skincare steps that you should never skip to keep your complexion in tip-top shape:
Step #1: Cleanse your face
The first thing you do in the morning or after coming home from a long day at work is to get clean! Although it sounds surprising, sweat, dirt, and oil can actually build up on your skin while you're at work or fast asleep even though you sleep with air conditioning. This can lead to clogged pores, which can lead to breakouts and blackheads hence, why you should never skip cleansing.
Step #2: Tone it
Yes, I know what you think or heard that splashing your face with water instead of patting it with some toner is fine. Actually, the ingredients in toner help to re-balance the pH level of your skin and hydrate it. In fact, it prepares the skin for the next layers by gently exfoliating it, in the morning and after cleansing at night, it rids the skin of the last bits of makeup or dirt hence, preventing those nasty pimples. This step is especially essential for people with dehydrated and oily skin.
Step #3: Moisturize it
You will always need to moisturize regardless of age. Moisturizers acts as the skin’s shield that help it maintain its balance. Furthermore, it affects skin health and improves how it appears because it helps to keep the skin hydrated.
Step #4: Protect it from the sun
This step for your AM routine only. You should never leave the house without sunblock unless its at night. Protecting our skin from those harmful UV rays is key to keep our skin tone even, our pores small and to prevent premature aging.
